Ah, the dog bath. The joy of getting your dog into the bathtub. Fighting to get your dog to stay in the tub and not jump out while covered in shampoo. The back and knee pain from kneeling on the floor and reaching over to get your dog clean.
There are different ways people bathe their dogs. Some bathe their dog in the sink, in the bathtub, or use the garden hose in their yard.
The following list is broken down into portable bathtubs and shower attachments that people can use to bathe their dog in whatever setting suits them best.
Portable Dog Bathtubs
A portable dog bathtub can be as simple as a container with a drainage plug in the bottom, to a tub with attached legs that raise it off the ground.
Dog Bathtubs Without Legs
Let’s start with portable tubs without legs. These tubs can be used on their own, or depending on their size, can be placed into your sink or bathtub. By placing it inside your sink or bathtub, you are able to drain it out into that area.
You want to look for a tub with a drainage plug to make it easier to empty. Without one, you would have to turn the tub over to empty it. This can be difficult to do, particularly if you have back or shoulder issues.

Users liked the size and light weight of this portable tub, as they were able to put it inside their own bathtub. The biggest issue reviewers had with this tub is that the non-slip feet on the bottom of the tub came off and they had to glue them back on. A few had issues with some minor leakage around the drain plug.

Shower Attachments
Shower attachments are usually hand held wands with a nozzle the water comes out of. Most are easy to install and can stay attached to your shower once you install it. Make sure to choose one with a hose that is long enough for you to reach all areas of your dog.
The downside to this attachment is that if you leave it attached to your shower, it tends to decrease the water pressure you experience for your own shower. Also, if you live in California, Colorado, or NYC, due to water restrictions on shower head flow rates, you cannot purchase these products.
Depending on the brand, you can also attach some shower attachments to your garden hose or kitchen sink, providing you with different areas of your home where you can bathe your dog.
